  • Mental/cognitive impairment:
When COD:AW is started up, the starting screen is a menu with 4 gamemodes that can be chosen from; Campaign, Multiplayer, Exo Survival and Exo Zombies. The font, however small, is easily readable. There isn’t much of a tutorial, but the principle is the same as in every other shooter so it isn’t really required. In the campaign gamemode is possible to adjust the difficulty. Still the content is very violent and graphic so the content can be seen as traumatising.

    Physical impairment:
The controls can’t be freely remapped, but there are around 10 presets you can chose from. Also the sensitivity and the way you look around can be alternated. The game is impossible to play with one hand on a regular controller since all the buttons are used for multiple actions. But if you have your own one handed controller it would be possible to play this game on your console using Titan One: http://game-accessibility.com/2015/10/22/titan-one/

    Visual impairment:
Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare can be played when you’re colourblind. There’s even a colourblind option in the menu which makes some colours brighter, and red becomes pinkish. Although I can immagine it still can be difficult to distinguish the enemy’s from your allies. The font in the menu and the subtitles is a little small. The game isn’t playable if you’re completely blind.

    Hearing impairment:
There are subtitles throughout, although small. A player might miss some information like gun noise but he’ll notice it when he’s hit because of feedback on the screen. Also on multiplayer people communicate by speech.

    Speech impairment:
Speech is often used in multiplayer servers, but it’s not really essential.
