Reviews

  • This game is incredibly fun, addicting and expansive. Not as expansive as say Dwarf Fortress (which is listed as one of it’s main influences), but it is still being regularly updated with new features and systems and it has cute and cool graphics and a very good user interface when compared to DF (which is the reason most people never really get into that game.)

As most games of this genre this game gets it’s accessibility from the option to pause the game at any time for as long as you want while still being able to issue orders to your colony. This results in the game being very accessible to physically impaired gamers.

The complexity of the game makes is mostly inaccessible to gamers with cognitive impairments.

Sound is not needed to enjoy the game. There is no spoken word so no need for subtitles and all alert sounds and the like are supplemented with alerts that come falling down into the screen on the right side. When really important (for example a pirate raid warning) these messages actively flash and jump halfway into your screen form time to time.

The game needs no voice input and the slow pace and lack of sudden patterns or flickering should make the game safe for epileptic gamers.

Visually impaired gamers will certainly enjoy the clear iconic graphics, the way extra information is shown when the player zooms in and the feature to pause the game at any time while still being able to fully control the camera. However some might have trouble reading the small font even when fully zoomed in. Blind gamers will be unable to play the game due to the large amount of content shown that has no audio equivalent.
